3 Helpful Hints For When You Ask For A Wedding Photography Proposal

So you’ve contacted a wedding photographer and they have now offered you a quote for your wedding photographs that is within your budget. Congratulations! You should accept it right away, right? WRONG! You probably could have negotiated a better price package if you had read this short article earlier.

Most people don’t comprehend what a price quote truly is on it’s most fundamental level. At the end of the day, this quote represents the target price the photographer wants to exchange his/her efforts for. But, this quote represents more than the quantity you will need to pay for the photographer’s time. Keeping this in mind, how can you (as the customer) bring down the stated quote so that it more properly represents your idea of the value of the photographer’s time? Below are 3 considerations for you to keep in mind that may encourage a photographer to increase the value of their time, and therefore increase the asking amount from you for their services.

1) Lack of details
Professional photographers HATE a lack of information when attempting to quote for a wedding. Usually, it is extremely tough for photographers to garner the proper level of info when they are constructing their quote. This is generally due to the fact that clients offer the bare minimum of information when requesting a quote. Situations aside from the amount of time a photographer will be at the occasion matter greatly. For instance, if your wedding will be held throughout numerous rooms a photographer will probably need an assistant and your quote will show this added expense. On the other hand, if your wedding will be in a single space there may not be a need for the assistant. If the photographer does not have this information prior to providing the quote, you can bet that the quote you get shows the worst case situation (i.e. the extra expense for the assistant’s income, insurance coverage, etc.).

2) Be reasonable when estimating the amount of time you will need the photographer’s services
Most engaged couples overestimate the amount of time they think that they’ll require a photographer to be at the wedding. Do you truly require the photographer for all 4 hours of the wedding reception? How many angles do you really require of the same guests drinking cocktails and eating? An hour or two of unneeded photographer’s time can become rather costly. Although, having said that, it is always better to overestimate than underestimate the amount of time you will need the photographer on-site. Giving accurate hours is the fastest way to cut unneeded expenses from your quote.

3) Be honest about when you need the completed photographs delivered
If you have chosen photo enhancements, don’t demand that the photographs be delivered by the next business day. If you require a few preliminary photos for thank you cards, Instagram, etc. immediately after the wedding, then ask for that at the time of booking the photographer – don’t make this request on the day of the wedding or, even worse, during the reception. The chances that you require ALL of the photos finished within 72 hours is unlikely. There is little doubt that the photographer will try to oblige your request; however in order to do so, they will need to push off other work. Pushing back other work comes at a premium and will be shown in your quote. For the best quote, request the preliminary photographs that you really do require straightaway and (specify what these images need to contain) and permit 7-10 business days for the rest of the images to be delivered to you.

In summary, supply your photographer with as much information at the first meeting as you possibly can, set clear expectations of your needs from the start, and always be sincere with both your photographer and yourself. Follow these pointers and you’ll be cutting those over-inflated photography quotes in no time.

About Davenport, Florida

Davenport is a city in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 2,888 at the 2010 census.[6] While the city of Davenport itself is very small, the area north of the city close to Interstate 4 and US 27 is experiencing explosive growth. It is part of the Lakeland–Winter Haven Metropolitan Statistical Area. The current interim mayor is H.B. “Rob” Robinson,[7] who was appointed in February 2018 to replace former Mayor Darlene Bradley, who resigned after being arrested in December 2017 on a host of charges including use of a false identity.[8] Per the City Charter, Mayor Robinson will serve until the next regular municipal election in April 2019, when an election will be held to fill the post through the remainder of the term, which ends in 2020.

The settlement in the area now known as Davenport was established in 1838 when the U.S. military set up Fort Davenport during the Second Seminole War, about 12 miles north of the present site of Davenport. The fort was one of a number built at 20 mile intervals along a trail from Fort Brooke to Fort Mellon. The fort only lasted a few years.[9] The fort was named for Colonel William Davenport, who served as the local U.S. commander in the war.[10] There is no known documentary evidence to support an alternative claim that the city was named for a railroad conductor.[10][11]
