A Few Things To Ask When Hiring a Sports Photographer

If the answer is no then stop right there and look for an alternative photographer. No need to continue the conversation. If you employ a relative or someone you know to take the photographs, and they trip and injure someone, who is going to pay for the medical bills. Remember in the United States people sue very quickly so you need to be protected.

If the answer is yes, then continue asking questions to find out how much coverage is afforded inside the insurance, what does and doesn’t it cover, and who has to pay for any out of pocket expense that aren’t covered?

Also ensure that you get a copy of the insurance before the event to to be sure the insurance really does exist and that it is still current.

You will want to know how long the vendor has been doing sports photography, where they carried out their photgraphy training and what certifications, if any do they have. Do they belong to any photographer associations and if they’ve ever won any photgraphy competitions. If the answer is yes, always ask to see proof.

A good and reliable sports photographer should have no problem in providing you with references from previous customers. Be sure to call them and ask questions such as:

  • Was the photographer a pleasure to work with?
  • What were the final shots like? Were you happy?
  • Would you employ him/her again?

Request to look at samples of their work from different sporting events. This shouldl give you a better idea of the depth of their work and how good they really are. Also, by looking at different events you will get a good idea of whether or not the photographer is consistently good…or just lucky every once in a while.

By having could help to make the shoot run a lot more smoothly. Two heads are better than one, right? An assistant or second photographer will also mean have the same shots taken from different angles and therefore showing different effects. Also, there will be a a little insurance that they will not miss shots if the equipment of the first photographer breaks down.

It is very important to establish exactly what you are getting for your money before you sign any contracts. How much time will the photographer be at the event? How many images will be delivered? How will you receive the proofs to choose from? Will the photographer do any post-production editing of photos so any blemishes can be removed? Does the package you choose include albums or framed photographs?

In addition, ensure you ask how long you have to decide which photographs you would like delivered after seeing the proofs, and how long does it take to get the final delivery?

It’s really important to ask these questions and don’t just assume. Then you can avoid disappointment and arguments because your expectations haven’t been met.

More About Lake Worth, Florida

Lake Worth is a city in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States, which takes its name from the body of water along its eastern border known as the Lake Worth Lagoon. The lake itself was named for General William J. Worth, who led U.S. forces during the last part of the Second Seminole War. As of 2010[update], the population estimated by the U.S. Census Bureau was 34,910.[3] It is a principal city of the Miami metropolitan area, which was home to an estimated 6,012,331 people in 2015.[7]

Indigenous people known as the Jaega were the earliest reported inhabitants of the section of the Florida Atlantic coast in the areas of Martin and Palm Beach Counties. Remains of shell mounds can be found near the Jupiter inlet, inland in what is now Boynton Beach and just south of the Boynton Inlet, indicating pre-Columbian Jaega habitation.[8]
