Questions You Should Ask When You Are Considering Hiring a Sports Photographer

If the answer is no then stop right there. No need to continue the conversation. If you hire a relative or someone you know to carry out the task, and they cause an accident, who is going to cover for the medical bills. Keep in mind in the United States people sue very quickly so you need to be protected.

If the answer is yes, then keep questioning to find out how much coverage is afforded inside the insurance, what does and doesn’t it cover, and who has to pay for any deductions that aren’t covered?

Also ensure that you get a copy of the insurance before the event to to make sure the insurance really does exist and that it is still active.

You ought to know how long the vendor has been a sports photographer, where they did their photgraphy training and what certifications, if any do they have. Ask if they belong to any photographer associations and if they’ve ever won any photgraphy competitions. If the answer is yes, always ask to see evidence.

A confidant and reliable sports photographer should have no problem in providing you with references from previous customers. Be sure to call them and ask questions such as:

  • Was he/she easy to work with?
  • What were the final shots like? Were you satisfied?
  • Would you hire this same photographer again?

Ask to look at samples of their sports photography from different events. This will give you a better idea of the depth of the photographer’s work and how good they are. In addition, by checking out different events this will give you an idea of whether or not the photographer is always good…or just lucky every once in a while.

By having could help to make the shoot run a lot more smoothly. Two heads are better than one, right? An assistant or second photographer will also mean have the same shots taken from different angles and therefore showing different effects. Finally, there will be a a bit of insurance that they will not miss shots if the equipment of the first photographer breaks down.

It’s very important that you establish exactly what you’re getting for your money before you hire the sports photographer. How long will the photographer be at the sporting event? Exactly how many images will you get? How will you receive the proofs to choose from? Will the photographer carry out any post-production editing of photographs so any blemishes can be removed? Does the package that you choose include albums or framed photographs?

Also, make sure that you ask how long you have to decide which images you would like delivered after seeing the proofs, and how long does it take to receive the final photographs?

It’s really important to ask these questions and don’t just assume. Then you can avoid disappointment and arguments because your expectations weren’t met.

More About Indiantown, Florida

Indiantown is a village in Martin County, Florida, United States. The population was 6,083 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Port St. Lucie Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Indiantown was originally established by the Seminole people as a trading post. Tribes fleeing southwards from the US Army after the First Seminole War found the area an attractive place to settle due to a relatively higher elevation and ample hunting and fishing spots. It was then settled by white American migrants in the 1890s.[3]
