A Few Questions To Ask When You Are Considering Hiring a Sports Photographer

If the answer is no then I would advise you to stop right there and look for an alternative photographer. No need to continue the discussion. If you hire a friend or someone you know to carry out the task, and they cause an accident, who is going to cover for the medical expenses. Keep in mind in the USA people sue very quickly so you need to protect yourself.

If the answer is yes, then keep asking questions to see how much coverage the insurance carries, what is and isn’t included in the policy, and who is liable for any deductions that the insurance doesn’t cover?

Also ensure that you get a copy of the insurance before the event just to make sure the insurance policy really does exist and that it is still active.

You will need to know how long the person has been doing sports photography, where they carried out their photographic training and what diplomas, if any do they have. Do they belong to any photographer associations or if they’ve ever won any photgraphy competitions. If the answer is yes, always ask to see evidence.

A confidant and experienced sports photographer will have no problem in providing you with references from previous customers. Make sure you call them and get their opinons of the photographer. Ask questions such as:

  • Was the photographer easy to work with?
  • What were the end results like? Were you happy?
  • Would you employ this same photographer again?

Request to see samples of their sports photography from different events. This shouldl give you a good idea of the depth of their work and how good they are. In addition, by viewing different events this will give you an idea of whether or not the photographer is consistently good…or just lucky every once in a while.

By having could possibly make the shoot run a lot more smoothly. Two heads are better than one, and all that! An assistant or second photographer will also mean have the same shots taken from different angles and therefore showing different effects. Finally, there will be a little bit of insurance of not missing shots if the equipment of the first photographer breaks down.

It is vital that you establish exactly what it is that you are getting for your money before you hire the sports photographer. How long will the photographer remain at the sporting event? How many photos will you get? How will the proofs be delivered? Will the photographer carry out any post-production editing of photos so any blemishes can be removed? Does the package that you choose include albums or framed photographs?

In addition, ensure you ask how long you have to decide which photographs you would like delivered after seeing the proofs, and how long does it take to get the final photographs?

It’s vital that you ask all these questions and don’t make assumptions. Then you can avoid disappointment and arguments because your expectations weren’t met.

More About Auburndale, Florida

Auburndale is a city in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 11,032 at the 2000 census. According to the U.S Census estimates of 2005, the city had a population of 12,381.[6] It is part of the Lakeland–Winter Haven Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Auburndale was founded in 1880 by Frank Fuller, who was seeking refuge from chilly winters in the Northeast United States.[7] The place was originally named Sanatoria, from a hotel located there. When the railroad arrived in the 1880s, the town was renamed Auburndale at the suggestion of settlers from Auburndale, Massachusetts.[8] The New England town had been named from the opening line of the poem “The Deserted Village” by Oliver Goldsmith.[9]
Early on, the city became a chosen destination for a number of America’s most prominent artists.[7]
