6 Factors You Should Keep In Mind When Working With A Professional Photographer For Your Business Photography Needs

With our significantly growing digital world we live in it’s becoming more frequent that we come across people who are asking whether they ought to hire a professional photographer. Why not simply take them yourself? Or even better, have a good friend or relative with a good camera take the photos? Now don’t get me wrong, I like the fact so many people have access to technology that can help them photograph their daily lives; but, when it comes to important occasions, milestones, business headshots, personal shoots, and your wedding, it is important that you work with an expert! There is a lot more that goes into professional photography than having good gear … So today, I am sharing with you the TOP SIX REASONS why you need to think about employing an expert photographer.

1) Consistent Results – In my opinion, I believe 2 key elements of an expert golfer are consistency and versatility. For instance, a great golfer that plays the local course twice a week each week, might have the ability to par the course on a regular basis, but that golfer might not be that consistent when having to adjust to an entirely new course and specifically a challenging course. but an expert golfer can not only shoot par and way better in many cases consistently, but they can also adapt to a new course. This is similar to the way a professional photographer works. A professional photographer can be consistent in numerous scenarios by adapting to the surrounds based upon knowledge. This consistency, versatility and understanding are all things that bring about quality results from the professional photographer.

2) Equipment – Some pros might not agree with me on this, but ask them exactly what they shoot with. You will likely learn that it’s not the most recent low-end consumer DSLR. It’s true that equipment alone does not magically make you professional photographer. So just to clarify, if someone goes to the camera shop in the morning and spends thousands of dollars, that doesn’t indicate he or she is immediately professional. However, for those genuinely doing photography professionally, there is often a substantial investment that comes with it. One camera bag might have countless dollars worth of investment inside it. You wouldn’t hire a professional in other fields that don’t have the correct equipment to do the task, so don’t use a photographer who purchased a camera, a kit lens and a flash on Saturday and magically Monday morning they are a pro. In the BIG brand photography world, it’s likely these photographers will not be going after that business. but small business owner beware, ensure the photographer is equipped to carry out the job and supply exceptional quality.

3) It’s Your Brand – Your brand name is important and professional photography is an easy way to make your brand stick out. It’s true that in the digital age that you or your good friend armed with a great camera can get some shots that may be just sufficient for the Internet and look good. However, with a little financial investment for a true professional photographer, your brand might go from good to excellent. Perception is everything. Invest in professional photographer and not someone who just takes good pictures that may just be good enough.

4) You Get What You Pay For – OKAY, you don’t always get exactly what you pay for and often high price is not as good as low-cost. Nevertheless, when you are working with a real experienced professional photographer and are genuinely comparing apples to apples, it’s most likely that the cheapest photographer out there will not provide equivalent results. Although the low-cost photographer could be a philanthropist and be great, it’s likely that too cheap will just yield good outcomes and not terrific ones. A good friend of mine sent me some examples of a photographer’s work just recently along with exactly what the photographer wanted for the images, I was surprised at the results and the rate. Why did my buddy not go with me? He understands that I am not the least expensive option for his requirements and only uses me for his bigger budget tasks. FYI, I am not insane high price. There are services that professional photographer will offer that are an excellent fit for small businesses.

5) Professional Editing – In the consumer market, it’s not unusual for a new photographer to shoot a session and burn a huge number of images to a disc and they are done. A true professional cares more about their work and reputation than to just hand over a disc of the images. Genuine professional photographers edit their work even if it’s just a quick run through of Adobe Lightroom. However, some images need large amounts of attention which could take a number of minutes to an hour plus just to effectively modify one image. Ask if the photographer you are considering edits their work. This is one easy way for the photographer to save you some money and them some time but likely deliver good results vs. excellent.

6) Because He or She Is Professional – A true professional photographer will act in professional manner in the way they operate. There is something to be said in any business about professionalism. A plumber may not be viewed in the same way as a lawyer, but the plumber should still treat you with respect, as well as respecting your residence by not walking on your carpet in muddy shoes and provide services in a way that leaves you feeling 100% satisfied! A professional photographer, especially in the world of business, ought to not just deliver excellent photography services but make you feel great by his/her attitude.

Our lives on this earth are temporary, but photographs are timeless! Leave behind a piece of you with those you love in still images. Provide something to remember you by, to hold onto, to value. I hope that after reading this you will consider working with a professional photographer for all your photography needs. Do some research! Find a photographer who’s style you love, and take some time to connect with them. Searching for and selecting the correct photographer will leave you with amazing memories and beautiful photographs to enjoy for a life time.
