6 Reasons You Should Keep In Mind When Employing A Professional Photographer For Your Business Photography Needs

With our vastly growing technical world we live in it’s becoming more regular that we experience people who are asking whether they should employ a professional photographer. Why not just take them yourself? Or even better, have a friend or relative with a good camera take the photos? Now don’t get me wrong, I like the fact many people have access to innovation that can help them photograph their everyday lives; but, when it concerns crucial events, milestones, business headshots, personal shoots, and your wedding, it is essential that you work with a professional! There is a lot more that goes into professional photography than having good gear … So today, I am sharing with you the TOP SIX REASONS why you need to think about hiring a professional photographer.

1) Consistent Results – In my opinion, I believe 2 essential parts of a professional golfer are consistency and adaptability. For example, a great golfer that plays the local course twice a week every week, may have the ability to par the course on a regular basis, but that golfer may not be that consistent when having to adjust to an entirely new course and especially a difficult course. but an expert golfer can not only shoot par and way much better for the most parts regularly, but they can also adjust to a new course. This is similar to the way a professional photographer works. An expert photographer can be consistent in various circumstances by adapting to the surrounds based on knowledge. This consistency, adaptability and understanding are all things that produce quality results from the professional photographer.

2) Equipment – Some pros might not agree with me on this, but ask them what they shoot with. You will likely learn that it’s not the latest low-end consumer DSLR. It’s true that equipment alone does not magically make someone professional photographer. So just to clarify, if someone goes to the camera store in the morning and spends thousands of dollars, that does not indicate he or she is automatically professional. Nevertheless, for those truly doing photography as a career, there is typically a significant investment that comes with that career choice. One camera bag could have thousands of dollars worth of investment inside it. You would not hire a professional in other fields that don’t have the right equipment to do the job, so don’t use a photographer who purchased a camera, a kit lens and a flash on Saturday and magically Monday morning they are a pro. In the BIG brand photography world, it’s most likely these photographers will not be pursuing that business. but small business owner beware, make sure the photographer is equipped to carry out the job and provide outstanding quality.

3) It’s Your Brand – Your brand is very important and professional photography is a simple way to make your brand name stand out. It’s true that in the digital age that you or your good friend armed with a good camera can get some shots that may be just sufficient for the Internet and look excellent. However, with a little financial investment for a true professional photographer, your brand could go from average to fantastic. Perception is everything. Hire professional photographer and not someone who just takes average pictures that may just be good enough.

4) You Get What You Pay For – OK, you don’t always get exactly what you pay for and often high price is not as good as inexpensive. Nevertheless, when you are dealing with a real skilled professional photographer and are truly comparing apples to apples, it’s most likely that the cheapest photographer out there will not provide equal results. Although the cheap photographer could be a philanthropist and be terrific, it’s likely that too cheap will only yield good results and not great ones. A pal of mine sent me some examples of a photographer’s work recently along with exactly what the photographer wanted for the images, I was surprised at the results and the price. Why did my friend not go with me? He understands that I am not the cheapest option for his needs and just uses me for his larger budget jobs. FYI, I am not crazy expensive. There are services that professional photographer will offer that are a terrific fit for small businesses.

5) Professional Editing – In the consumer market, it’s not unusual for a new photographer to shoot a session and burn lots of images to a disc and they are done. A true professional cares more about their work and reputation than to just hand over a disc of the images. Real professional photographers edit their work even if it’s just a quick run through of Adobe Lightroom. Nevertheless, some images need large amounts of attention which might take several minutes to an hour plus just to correctly modify one image. Find out if the photographer you are thinking about hiring edits their work. This is one simple way for the photographer to save you some money and them some time but most likely deliver good results vs. excellent.

6) Because He or She Is Professional – A real professional photographer will act in professional manner in the way they operate. There is something to be stated in any business about professionalism. A plumbing contractor may not be viewed in the same way as a lawyer, but the plumber should still treat you with respect, as well as respecting your home by not walking on your carpet in dirty shoes and deliver services in a manner that leaves you feeling 100% satisfied! A professional photographer, particularly in the world of business, ought to not just deliver great photography services but make you feel great by his/her attitude.

Our lives on this earth are short-lived, but photographs are timeless! Leave a piece of you with those you cherish in still images. Give them something to keep you inside their minds, to keep, to value. I hope that after reading this you will think about hiring a professional photographer for all your photographic needs. Do some research! Look for a photographer who’s design you like, and take time to get in touch with them. Searching for and choosing the correct photographer will leave you with amazing memories and beautiful photographs to enjoy for a lifetime.
