6 Factors You Should Keep In Mind When Employing An Expert Photographer For Your Business Photography Needs

With our vastly growing digital world we live in it’s becoming more regular that we come across people who are asking whether they need to work with a professional photographer. Why not just take them yourself? Or better yet, have a good friend or member of the family with a good camera take the photos? Now don’t get me wrong, I like the fact many people have access to technology that can help them photograph their daily lives; but, when it concerns essential occasions, milestones, business headshots, personal shoots, and your wedding, it is vital that you hire an expert! There is a lot more that goes into professional photography than having good equipment … So today, I am sharing with you the TOP SIX REASONS why you need to think about employing a professional photographer.

1) Consistent Results – In my opinion, I think two essential elements of a professional golfer are consistency and versatility. For instance, a good golfer that plays the regional course twice a week every week, might be able to par the course on a regular basis, but that golfer may not be that consistent when needing to adjust to a completely new course and specifically a difficult course. but an expert golfer can not just shoot par and way much better most of the time consistently, but they can also adjust to a new course. This is similar to the way a professional photographer works. A professional photographer can be consistent in many scenarios by adapting to the surrounds based on knowledge. This consistency, adaptability and knowledge are all things that bring about quality results from the expert photographer.

2) Equipment – Some pros may not agree with me on this, but ask what they shoot with. You will likely learn that it’s not the latest low-end consumer DSLR. It’s true that equipment alone does not magically make someone professional photographer. So just to clarify, if someone goes to the camera store in the morning and spends thousands of dollars, that does not mean he or she is immediately professional. Nevertheless, for those really doing photography as a career, there is often a substantial investment that comes with that career choice. One camera bag might have thousands of dollars worth of financial investment inside it. You would not use a professional in other fields that don’t have the right equipment to do the task, so don’t use a photographer who bought a camera, a kit lens and a flash on Saturday and magically Monday morning they are a pro. In the BIG brand photography world, it’s likely these photographers will not be pursuing that business. but small company owner beware, ensure the photographer is equipped to carry out the task and provide excellent quality.

3) It’s Your Brand – Your brand name is very important and professional photography is an easy way to help your brand stick out. It’s true that in the digital age that you or your friend armed with a great camera can get some shots that might be just good enough for the Internet and look good. However, with a little financial investment for a true professional photographer, your brand might go from good to excellent. Perception is everything. Invest in professional photographer and not someone who just takes good pictures that may just be good enough.

4) You Get What You Pay For – OK, you don’t always get exactly what you pay for and sometimes expensive is not as good as cheap. However, when you are working with a true skilled professional photographer and are genuinely comparing apples to apples, it’s most likely that the cheapest photographer out there will not deliver equal results. Although the low-cost photographer could be a philanthropist and be excellent, it’s most likely that too cheap will only yield okay results and not terrific ones. A buddy of mine sent me some examples of a photographer’s work just recently along with exactly what the photographer wanted for the images, I was stunned at the results and the cost. Why did my buddy not go with me? He understands that I am not the least expensive choice for his needs and just uses me for his larger budget tasks. FYI, I am not insane expensive. There are services that professional photographer will offer that are a terrific fit for small businesses.

5) Professional Editing – In the consumer market, it’s not unusual for a new photographer to shoot a session and burn lots of images to a disc and they are done. A true professional cares more about their work and reputation than to just turn over a disc of the images. Genuine professional photographers edit their work even if it’s just a fast run through of Adobe Lightroom. However, some images need large amounts of attention which could take numerous minutes to an hour plus just to properly modify one image. Ask if the photographer you are thinking about hiring edits their work. This is one easy way for the photographer to conserve you some money and them time but most likely provide good results vs. great.

6) Because He or She Is Professional – A true professional photographer will act in professional manner in the way they operate. There is something to be stated in any business about professionalism. A plumber might not be viewed in the same way as a lawyer, but the plumber should still treat you with respect, as well as respecting your home by not walking on your carpet in dirty shoes and deliver services in a manner that leaves you feeling 100% satisfied! A professional photographer, particularly in business world, should not only deliver terrific photography services but make you feel great by his/her mindset.

Our lives on this earth are short-lived, but photographs are timeless! Leave behind a piece of you with those you cherish in still images. Provide something to keep you inside their minds, to keep, to value. I hope that after reading this you will think about working with a professional photographer for all your photographic needs. Do some research! Look for a photographer who’s style you love, and take time to connect with them. Finding and choosing the correct photographer will leave you with amazing memories and beautiful photographs to enjoy for a life time.
