5 Reasons You Why You Should Consider Hiring a Professional Pet Photographer

Sure, camera gear is reasonably cheap, however amateurs are still amateurs. Here’s how a professional can make a huge difference to the end results of your pet photography.

Pet photography varies from photographs of domesticated animals (pet dogs to cats to birds) to more editorial type shots that aim to capture the appeal of animals (picture horse and equine photography) connecting in their natural or domestic environment.

Great pet photography seeks to show, creatively, the character of the creature being photographed. These shoots can be carried out in different locations, from studio to on-location. A lot of pet photographers have their own style and while some may shoot all sorts of animals, certain photographers prefer to specialize particular type of pets.

Here are 5 great reasons why you cannot beat a working with a professional pet photographer.

1. You can’t substitute for knowledge and experience

Technological improvements have made premium photography equipment far more affordable for amateur photographers, however amateurs are still amateurs. Professional photographers not only have the camera, lenses, and other complimentary devices required to get the perfect shot, they have the training and experience to do so too.

2. You can’t beat the imagination of a professional pet photographer

Your pet’s personality should shines through in the pictures that you take of him/her. The very best pet photographers think about not only the character of your pet but also his or her lifestyle.

3. You cannot beat the ease

Let the professional crawl around on the lawn – or jump in the pool – while you sit back, unwind, and enjoy the action unfold. You may just pick up a couple of tips to improve your pet photography skills.

4. You can’t beat the effectiveness

A professional pet photographer also has the knowledge to get the very best images in the least amount of time. They typically charge by the hour and have no desire to waste their time or yours.

5. You can join in the fun

Most professional pet photographers nowadays aim to record the bond between you and your pet, resulting in a valued photo that will surely hang in a location of significance in your house for many years to come.

Tips on selecting a professional pet photographer

1. Find a specialist photographer

When picking a pet photographer, you truly should select someone who likes and is comfortable with your pet – someone who is allergic to cats, but likes dogs is not a great choice to photograph Kitty. By the same token, a love of dogs doesn’t indicate your photographer is comfortable or has experience shooting horse photography in an arena. Seek out a photographer who has experience shooting your type of pet, let them know what you’re looking for in your pet shoot, and check out their online portfolio to look for experience and style compatibility.

Explore a photographer’s site to see their previous work, and then interview him or her prior to scheduling a consultation. Inquire about the creative process and how the actual session will unfold. Make certain you feel comfortable with the photographer prior to scheduling the actual shoot. If you don’t click with him or her, odds are your pet won’t either.

2. Decide on the deliverables

Discuss before the shoot with your pet photographer on what your objectives are for the photography session and what you mean to do with the photos. Communicating where and how you will use the images can help your photographer get the images that you are looking for and ensure that the final deliverables fulfill your expectations.

3. Scheduling the session

When shooting outdoors think about the comfort of your pet and attempt to arrange your shoot with favorable lighting conditions – typically late afternoon. By minimizing the amount of equipment and lighting your photographer requires on the shoot, you also help to decrease the stress the photo shoot might trigger for your animal. When shooting in a studio, bring a preferred toy or other pet item. And in all cases, bring treats with you.

4. After the photography shoot

Most pet pictures will be delivered digitally. The pet photographer will normally let you preview the proofs so you can determine your preferred photographs and you for that reason do not wind up paying for photographs that you don’t want to keep. Make sure to ask if the photographs will be provided unedited, or will the photographer use software to do some post-production retouch work (where the photographer remedies lighting, color grades or removes imperfections, etc from the photos).

How much does Pet Photography cost?

Animal photography prices will need to be set based upon the kind of photography (studio or in the field) required and the level of equipment and ability required to get the shot for the client. Factors that will determine the cost will be experience, equipment, travel, hazards, environmental elements and the specific client requirements. Some photographer will charge per session and others might charge by print. Discuss with the photographer about their pay structure and how it breaks down. And be sure you discuss how they would like to manage the photograph rights as buying complete rights to the images will add to the cost.

Search for a deal if you can. Professional pet photography can be pricey. If you have restricted funds, keep your eye out for a discount. Many professional photographers are moving into pet photography and want to bring in new customers; also particular times of year business might be slow for those both established and brand-new pet photographers. However, always keep quality in mind and do your due diligence before putting down any cash, no matter how great the offer might sound.

More About Tavares, Florida

Tavares (pronounced tuh-vair-ees) is a city located in the central portion of the U.S. state of Florida. It is the county seat of Lake County.[6] The population in 2015 was 14,583, with a total of 5,000 households and an average household income of $40,000.[7] It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name is a popular Portuguese surname and toponym.

The city was founded by newspaper and railroad man Alexander St. Clair-Abrams in 1880 and named for a Portuguese ancestor. In 1883 a post office was established, which was followed by a hotel, three stores, a sawmill, and eight cottages in 1884.[8] While St. Clair-Abrams did not achieve his dream that Tavares become the state capital of Florida (Tallahassee has held the spot since 1823), in 1887 the city was named the seat of Lake County. St. Clair-Abrams later chartered a railroad to run from Tavares to Orlando. In 1919, Tavares incorporated as a town.
