5 Reasons You Why You Ought to Consider Hiring a Professional Pet Photographer

Sure, camera equipment is relatively cheap, but amateurs are still amateurs. Here’s how a professional can make a big difference to the end results of your pet photography.

Pet photography varies from portraits of domesticated animals (dogs to cats to birds) to more editorial type shots that aim to record the beauty of animals (picture horse and equine photography) connecting in their natural or domestic environment.

High quality pet photography aims to show, creatively, the character of the creature being photographed. These shoots can be held in different locations, from studio to on-location. Most pet photographers have their own style and while some might shoot all sorts of animals, other photographers may specialize specific type of animals.

Here are five excellent reasons that you can’t beat a hiring a professional pet photographer.

1. You can’t replace knowledge and experience

Technological advancements have made premium equipment much more budget friendly for amateur photographers, however amateurs are still amateurs. Professional photographers don’t just have the camera, lenses, and other complimentary devices required to get the ideal shot, they have the training and experience to do so too.

2. You can’t beat the creativity of a professional pet photographer

Your pet’s personality should shines through in the pictures that you take of him/her. The very best pet photographers think about not only the personality of your pet but also his/her way of life.

3. You cannot beat the ease

Let the professional crawl around on the lawn – or jump in the pool – while you relax, unwind, and enjoy the action unfold. You might just grab a couple of helpful hints to improve your own pet shooting skills.

4. You cannot beat the end-result

A professional pet photographer also has the know-how to get the best images in the least amount of time. They generally charge by the hour and have no desire to waste their time or yours.

5. You can participate in the fun

The majority of professional pet photographers nowadays strive to capture the bond between you and your pet, resulting in a treasured image that will certainly hang in a location of significance in your house for several years to come.

Tips on selecting a professional pet photographer

1. Find a specialist photographer

When selecting a pet photographer, you really want to pick someone who likes and is comfortable with your pet – someone who is allergic to cats, but loves dogs is not a great choice to shoot Kitty. By the same token, a love of dogs doesn’t mean your photographer is comfortable or has experience shooting horse photography in an arena. Seek out a photographer who has experience shooting your type of pet, let them know exactly what you’re searching for in your pet shoot, and check out their online portfolio to check for experience and style compatibility.

Explore a photographer’s website to see their previous work, then interview them prior to making an appointment. Ask about the creative process and how the actual session will unfold. Ensure you feel totally at ease with the photographer prior to booking the actual shoot. If you don’t click with him or her, odds are your pet won’t either.

2. Choose the deliverables

Discuss before the shoot with your pet photographer on what your objectives are for the photography session and exactly what you mean to do with the images. Communicating where and how you plan to use the photos can help your photographer get the photos that you are trying to achieve and guarantee that the final deliverables meet your expectations.

3. Scheduling the shoot

When shooting outdoors consider the comfort of your pet and aim to schedule your shoot with favorable lighting conditions – generally late afternoon. By reducing the amount of equipment and lighting your photographer needs on the shoot, you also assist to lower the stress the photo shoot might cause for your animal. When shooting in a studio, bring a preferred toy or other pet item. And in all cases, bring treats with you.

4. After the photography session

Most pet pictures will be delivered digitally. The pet photographer will typically let you preview the proofs so you can determine your favorite photographs and you therefore don’t wind up paying for pictures that you do not want. Make certain to ask if the photographs will be delivered untouched, or will the photographer use photographic software to do some post-production retouch work (where the photographer fixes lighting, color grades or removes imperfections, etc from the photos).

Just how much does Pet Photography cost?

Animal photography rates will need to be set based upon the kind of photography (studio or in the field) needed and the level of equipment and skill needed to get the shot for the customer. Factors that will figure out the cost will be experience, equipment, travel, risks, environmental aspects and the specific client requirements. Some photographer will charge per session and others might charge by print. Discuss with the photographer about their pay structure and how it breaks down. And be sure to discuss how they want to manage the photograph rights as purchasing complete rights to the images will add to the final cost.

Try to find a special offer if you can. Professional pet photography can be costly. If you have restricted funds, keep your eye out for seasonal special offers. Many professional photographers are moving into pet photography and wish to draw in new clients; also specific times of year business may be sluggish for those both established and brand-new pet photographers. Always keep quality in mind and do your research prior to putting down any loan, no matter how excellent the offer might sound.

More About Oviedo, Florida

Oviedo is a city in Seminole County, Florida, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 33,342, representing an increase of 7,026 (26.7%) from the 26,316 counted in the 2000 Census.[6] It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. Oviedo is known for its historic houses and buildings, as well as its population of chickens that roam the downtown area. Although the city has historically been rural, in recent years it has had an influx of new developments to support its rapid growth, due to its proximity to the University of Central Florida and the Central Florida Research Park. Several national publications have placed Oviedo on their nationally ranked lists as one of the best places to live in the US.[7]

In the late 1870s, individuals living a few miles south of Lake Jesup needed an easily accessible post office in the Florida back country. Andrew Aulin, an early settler and shop-owner, decided to file paperwork for a post office, and in his first site location report, needed a name that was different from any other post office in Florida.[10] Aulin liked having a Spanish name, “to go with the Spanish name of the state,” and decided to name his post office location Oviedo after the city of Oviedo in northern Spain (the capital city of the Principality of Asturias) and the University of Oviedo.[10] Some say he visited the University, while others say he just liked the sound of it, but most agree that he likely pronounced the name “Oh-vee-Ay-Doh” rather than the Americanized way of “Oh-VEE-doh”.[citation needed]
